WUB Students Receive Special Mention Award at 12th DEH Inter-University Student Conference and Cultural Competition 2026 at ULAB

Students of the Department of English at World University of Bangladesh (WUB) received the Special Mention Award at the 12th DEH Inter-University Student Conference and Cultural Competition 2026, held on August 13–14, 2026, at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).

Organized around the theme “Money Talks: Consumerism and Capitalism in Literature and Language,” the two-day event brought together students from different universities for academic presentations, critical discussions, and cultural activities exploring the relationship between literature, language, consumerism, and capitalism.

Representing the Department of English, Md. Ismail Hossen of the 60A batch and Sumaiya Hoque Anika of the 62A batch participated in the conference, representing World University of Bangladesh with enthusiasm and academic engagement.

The WUB participants earned a Special Mention Award in recognition of their participation in the event. Their achievement reflects their academic commitment and highlights the Department of English’s continued efforts to encourage students to engage in intellectual, creative, and extracurricular activities beyond the classroom.

The students participated under the supervision of Abdus Salam, Senior Lecturer, Department of English, World University of Bangladesh. His guidance and support contributed to the students’ successful participation in the inter-university event.
