Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design Students Bridge Classroom and Industry with Exposure Visit to Apparel Village Ltd.

In alignment with its core philosophy of providing "Bridging Classroom and Industry," the Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design at the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) successfully organized a comprehensive industrial exposure visit to the Apparel Village Ltd, Birulia, Savar, a prominent composite manufacturing enterprise in Bangladesh, renowned for its compliance, adoption of high-tech production methodologies, and high-quality apparel output tailored for global markets.

The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical academic concepts and practical industrial applications. It provided a cohort of undergraduate students with a first-hand look at modern knit and woven manufacturing, lean management practices, and advanced production technology.

Accompanied by 50 undergraduate students, alone with 3 faculty members from the department, were warmly received by Mr. Arif, Head of HR of Apparel Village Ltd. The group was guided through a detailed walkthrough of the facility's core operations, knitting, dyeing, printing, garments manufacturing. The company expressed its ongoing interest in nurturing talent from the university, noting that initiatives like this are pivotal in shaping the next generation of industrial engineers, production planners, and textile experts.

The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session where factory technical heads addressed student queries regarding lean manufacturing implementation, supply chain bottlenecks, and the growing demand for sustainable production footprints in modern apparel factories.
