The
World University of Bangladesh continues its commitment to "Education for
Real Life" through its latest industrial tour. Students from the Dept of
Textile Engineering recently visited Intertek Bangladesh's Dhaka facilities, one
of the world's leading providers of total quality assurance, testing,
inspection, and certification (ATIC) services, led by Pro Vice Chancellor of
WUB Prof. Dr. M. Nurul Islam and Md. Mostafizur Rahman, HoD, along with some
faculty members of Dept of Textile Engineering of WUB. The program took place on 2nd Feb, 2026 (Monday). 30
students of the 4th year of the Textile Engineering program
participated in the industrial visit. The visit aimed to bridge the gap
between academic theory and industrial practice, providing students with a
firsthand look at the sophisticated processes involved in textile testing and
quality control.
The
team was warmly welcomed by Intertek Bangladesh's Country HR Manager, Santonu
Hasan, and MM Murshed, Senior Manager Compliance, who provided technical advice
and addressed students' questions on the most recent developments in the
clothing and textile industries. A cooperative conversation on the significance
of quality assurance in preserving Bangladesh's competitive advantage in the
international RMG industry marked the end of the visit.
As
our students prepare to become the next generation of textile leaders, seeing
world-class Quality Assurance in action is invaluable. During the tour, our
cohort explored: Advanced Testing, Global Compliance, Quality Assurance
Standards, and Sustainability Practices
The
WUB extends its gratitude to Intertek Bangladesh for its hospitality and
commitment to nurturing young engineering talent.
