WUB STEM Carnival 2026 Held to Inspire Young Minds in Science and Innovation

World University of Bangladesh (WUB) organized WUB STEM Carnival 2026 on September 22, 2026 at WUB campus with the aim of inspiring young minds and promoting excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The day-long carnival brought together students from colleges across Bangladesh, providing them with an engaging platform to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills through a range of competitive and innovative activities.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. The carnival officially commenced at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium in his presence. Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar; Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam, Dean of Academic Affairs and Research; and Professor Dr. Mohammad Quamruzzaman, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, World University of Bangladesh, were also present at the programme.

The carnival featured four major events: Mathematical Olympiad, Science & ICT Olympiad, Quiz Competition and Project Showcasing. Students from H.S.C., A Level and Alim levels participated in the events. The carnival offered a total prize pool of BDT 300,000/- with winners receiving cash prizes, certificates and crests, while participants received participation certificates.

One of the major attractions of the carnival was the Project Showcasing, where student teams presented innovative projects in areas including robotics, sustainability and engineering design. Teams of two to four students demonstrated their creativity, technical expertise and ability to transform ideas into practical solutions.

Registration and reception began at 9:00 am, followed by the inauguration ceremony. The Olympiad and Quiz competitions continued throughout the day, culminating in the Prize Giving and Closing Ceremony.

The carnival provided students with opportunities to exchange ideas, learn from peers, work as teams and present their innovative solutions. It also emphasized the importance of critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills in preparing the younger generation for a rapidly changing science and technology-driven world.

Through WUB STEM Carnival 2026, World University of Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging STEM education, nurturing innovation and creating opportunities for young students to explore and develop their potential in science, technology and innovation.
