The WUB Mechanical Club of the Department of
Mechanical Engineering, World University of Bangladesh (WUB), officially
launched the “Practical Training
Workshop on Lathe Machine Operation & Precision Machining Techniques”
on 1 September 2026. The
workshop provides students with an excellent opportunity to enhance their
practical knowledge and develop technical skills in mechanical engineering.
The inaugural
session was attended by respected faculty members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering,
executive members of the WUB Mechanical Club, instructors, and enthusiastic
student participants. The faculty members shared valuable insights into
workshop safety, the practical application of engineering knowledge,
professional development, and the importance of hands-on learning in both
academic and professional life.
The workshop has
been organized with the objective of bridging the gap between classroom-based
theoretical knowledge and real-world practical experience. Through hands-on
training, students will gain direct exposure to lathe machine operation and precision machining techniques,
enabling them to develop greater technical competence, confidence, and
practical problem-solving skills.
This initiative
reflects the continued efforts of the Department
of Mechanical Engineering and WUB Mechanical Club to promote practical
and skill-oriented learning among students. By providing students with
opportunities to work directly with engineering tools and techniques, the
workshop aims to better prepare them for future academic pursuits and
professional challenges.
The workshop
marks an important step toward strengthening practical engineering education at
World University of Bangladesh
and encouraging students to learn,
practice, create, and grow as competent and confident future engineers.
