Department of Civil Engineering at WUB Organizes Intra-Department Football Tournament 2026

The Department of Civil Engineering of the World University of Bangladesh (WUB) successfully organized the “Intra-Department Football Tournament 2026” on 15 May 2026 with great enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and active participation from students. The event reflected the university’s strong commitment to promoting extracurricular activities, teamwork, leadership, and student engagement alongside academic excellence.

The tournament officially began with the “Trophy & Jersey Unveiling” ceremony held on 14 May 2026, followed by the day-long football tournament and prize-giving ceremony on 15 May 2026. A total of 12 teams from different batches of the department participated in the competition, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with excitement, unity, and healthy competition.

The event was graced by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor of WUB, as the Chief Guest, while Professor Zaki Imam, Honorable Registrar of WUB, attended as the Special Guest. The program was presided over by Sagor Kumar Podder, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, WUB.

Throughout the tournament, students demonstrated remarkable talent, discipline, determination, and team spirit. The university playground turned into a lively arena where participants and supporters celebrated friendship, cooperation, and sportsmanship.

In the final match, “Civil Dominion” emerged as the Champion of the tournament, while “Transportation Knights” secured the Runners-Up position after displaying commendable performances throughout the competition.

The Department of Civil Engineering extended heartfelt congratulations to both the champion and runners-up teams for their outstanding achievements. Appreciation was also expressed to all participating teams, organizers, volunteers, faculty members, and supporters whose sincere efforts and enthusiasm contributed to the grand success of the tournament.
