The Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design at World University of Bangladesh successfully
hosted a seminar titled “Shaping the Future of Fashion Design in Bangladesh” on
April 25, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda
Choudhury Auditorium.
The event
brought together academics, industry professionals, and students to explore
emerging opportunities in the fashion design sector. The seminar featured Ehsan
Haq, Director of Knittex Industries Ltd., as the distinguished speaker. In his
address, he highlighted the expanding scope of fashion design careers both in
Bangladesh and in international markets. He emphasized the importance of
innovation, adaptability, and global awareness for aspiring designers.
Professor Dr.
M. Nurul Islam, Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor of WUB, attended the program as
the Chief Guest. He expressed appreciation for the initiative and commended the
department for organizing a timely and impactful seminar aligned with industry
demands.

Mohammad Ashraful Islam, Editor and Publisher of Textile Focus & Denim
Focus, also shared valuable insights during the session. They encouraged
students to develop practical skills alongside their academic education,
emphasizing that technical expertise and creative competence are essential in
the highly competitive fashion industry.
The session
was presided over by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Head of the Department of Textile
Engineering & Fashion Design, who reaffirmed the department’s commitment to
bridging academic knowledge with industry practice.
The seminar concluded with an interactive session where students
engaged with the speakers and gained a clearer understanding of career pathways
and skill development strategies in the field of fashion design.
