Seminar on “Shaping the Future of Fashion Design in Bangladesh”

The event brought together academics, industry professionals, and students to explore emerging opportunities in the fashion design sector. The seminar featured Ehsan Haq, Director of Knittex Industries Ltd., as the distinguished speaker. In his address, he highlighted the expanding scope of fashion design careers both within Bangladesh and across international markets. He emphasized the importance of innovation, adaptability, and global awareness for aspiring designers.

Prof. Dr. M Nurul Islam, Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor of WUB, attended as the chief guest. He expressed appreciation for the initiative and commended the department for organizing a timely and impactful seminar that aligns with industry demands. Mohammad Ashraful Islam, Editor and Publisher of Textile Focus & Denim Focus, shared valuable insights. They encouraged students to develop practical skills alongside their academic education, as technical expertise and creative competence are of immense importance in the competitive fashion industry.

The session was presided over by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Head of the Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design, who reaffirmed the department’s commitment to connecting academic knowledge with industry practice.
