The Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the World University
of Bangladesh successfully hosted “Think and Link”, an academic competition where students
showcased their knowledge, creativity, and debating skills. The event featured
quizzes, critical-thinking challenges, and presentations on “Boosting Engine
Efficiency: Turbocharging vs. Supercharging,” followed by a final debate on “Artificial
Intelligence is not a blessing for mankind, but a curse.”
The final
debate round was judged by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kamruzzaman,
Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering, WUB; Prof. Mir Mohammad Azad,
Head, Dept. of CSE; and Prof. Dr. Md. Shawkut Ali Khan,
Faculty, Dept. of MTE. The Champion Team was The Rebuttal Squad,
with Ismam Al Sadat
recognized as the Best Debater of the final round. The Runners-Up Team was Team Mecha Minds,
and the Best Presenter Award went to Hadid Mollah from Team Mecha
Minds.
The faculty
members of the Mechatronics Engineering Department, Rumana Tasnim, Sadatuzzaman Saagoto, Protik
Borua, Meghdeepa Chowdhury, Zayeed Bin Mamun, Avishek Chowdhury, Md. Hasibur
Rahman, and Mahbuba Laila mentored the student teams throughout
the competition, providing guidance and inspiration in every round.
The award
ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. M. Nurul
Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor, World University of
Bangladesh along with Special Guests Prof. Dr. Mohammad
Kamruzzaman, Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering, WUB;
and Prof. Zaki Imam,
Registrar, WUB.
The Champion
and Runners-Up Teams received their trophies and prize cheques from the Chief
and Special Guests, while the Head of the Department of Mechatronics
Engineering, Farhan Mahbub, presented tokens of appreciation to the
guests, judges, mentors, and program coordinators.
