International Seminar On “ Applications and Prospects of Mechatronics Engineering in Bangladesh ’’ PDF Print E-mail

The World University of Bangladesh (WUB) organized an international seminar On 15 October, 2010 at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain MP the Honorable Minister, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Expatriates Welfare and Overseas Employment, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was supposed to grace the occasion as chief guest. But due to some unavoidable circumstances the hon’ble minister designated Professor Dr. S.M. Nazrul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, BUET & President IEB to grace the occasion as Chief guest; Dr. Pran Gopal Datta, Vice-Chancellor, Bangladesh Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, Moulana Bhashani University of science and Technology were present as special guest.
In his speech, the chief guest professor Islam spoke high of World University of Bangladesh and appreciated it’s laudable role in building educated human resource including Mechatronics Engineers to build up a ‘Digital Bangladesh `.


In his keynote speech Dr. Engineer Hubert Roth, Professor, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, University of Siegen, Germany, highlighted the applications & prospects of  Mechatronics Engineering world wide and in Bangladesh. He appreciated the role of World University of Bangladesh for introducing such a practical and work-oriented program.
The Program was chaired by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, since the V.C, Professor Dr. A.M. Choudhury was indisposed. The seminar was also addressed by Dr. Musfiq M. Choudhury, advisor of the University; Engineer K.M. Jakir Hossain, the Coordinator of the program & Professor Dr. Fazlul Karim of Mechatronics Engineering Department.
Besides the Students of Mechatronics Department WUB displayed their practical work on mechatronics at the gateway of the Seminar Hall, which attracted huge number of audience.
